Stamping on Soap
You will need:
-
Bar of Soap
-
White Tissue paper –
the kind you would
get a purchase
wrapped in.
-
Wax – Paraffin
available in the
grocery store with
supplies for
canning, a few
ounces should be
sufficient.
-
Your favorite Stamp
set (with images
that are smaller
than your soap)
-
Embossing supplies
or Ink
-
Melt your wax in
a small pot,
just to the
point that it is
completely
melted, and take
it off the
burner. BE VERY
CAREFUL WITH
YOUR WAX.
-
Stamp and emboss
your image onto
the tissue paper
and color it in
if you like.
-
Cut out the
image to fit on
the top of your
bar of soap.
-
With a pair of
fine nose
tweezers grasp a
small piece of
the edge of your
image and dip it
in the wax
completely.
Take it out of
the wax and
position it on
the bar of
soap. If you
don’t like the
positioning you
can pull it up
if you’re quick;
re-dip and
reposition.
-
Once you are
pleased with
your image
position, hold
the bar upside
down (with the
stamped side
down). Then,
carefully
dip just the top
of the stamped
side in the wax
to seal the
image in place.
Voila! You now have
your own personalized
stamped soaps perfect
for gift giving or party
favors.
